Apicius is the name attached to the ancient Roman recipe collection known as Apicius de re Coquinaria. This edition is Joseph Dommers Vehling’s English translation, Cookery and Dining in Imperial Rome, with his bibliography, critical review and notes and an introduction by Prof. Frederick Starr; Vehling signed his preface in Chicago in the summer of 1936. The work is now in the public domain.
